Assignment description : VISA-AD “International Volunteering in the Service of Others” is a structure for sending, welcoming and supporting young volunteers motivated for social or educational services in France and abroad. Its role as a Union of Associations is to organize, recruit, monitor and train volunteers. We provide administrative support and advice to organizations so that missions are carried out in accordance with the ethics of Volunteering.
You will join an association in French-speaking Switzerland and participate in the production of literary and audio resources for people with visual disabilities. You will also help organize the annual adapted vacation camp and support people.
The objective of the association is to break the isolation of people affected by their vision by developing access to literary resources, necessary for the development of their full potential. You will thus be able to contribute to their development and participate in an impacting solidarity project.
You will carry out your mission on the premises of the association, located near Lake Geneva in Switzerland, and will support the team in the following tasks:
- assistance in the production of resources in Braille (recordings, contribution to the audio periodical)

- daily management of resources at the library and sound library (management of stocks and loans). You communicate with people when borrowing Braille and audio resources and prepare for the shipment.

- support for the organization of the annual adapted vacation camp (once a year): organization and preparation of activities, reception and guidance of participants

- support for awareness-raising and representation events: preparing and maintaining stands with the team, information for participants

- support and participation in the life and activity of the team (occasional administrative support according to needs).

You will be accommodated free of charge by the association. You will benefit from mandatory PSC1 training, “civic and civic” preparation for departure and educational training upon arrival. You will receive technical training related to Braille and guidance to support people with visual disabilities.
