Description of the project : The 2025 Young Ambassadors of Community Engagement program is an initiative proposed by the United States Embassy in France. This program is mainly aimed at high school students who are already actively involved in community, civic and voluntary activities in their school, city or country.

What are the goals of this program?

- promote equal opportunities: by offering this opportunity to committed young people, the program aims to enable them to develop their skills and to project themselves into the future.
- develop a sense of citizenship: the aim is to strengthen the interest of young people in civic and associative involvement
- strengthen ties between France and the United States: this program allows young participants to discover American culture and society, while strengthening exchanges between the two countries.

What does this program consist of?

The program has several phases in France and the United States:
- an inter-regional preparation meeting in July 2025
- the development of a project before the stay, independently
- a two-week stay in the United States from October 18, 2025 to November 3, 2025 including institutional and associative visits to Washington D.C., a stay with a family in Kansas City or Pensacola, and workshops on leadership and project development
one or two follow-up meetings in the participants' respective regions

Participation conditions (cost, language proficiency, etc.) : Who is the program for?

To apply, you must:
- be enrolled in the second or first year for the 2024/2025 school year in a high school in the Hauts-de-France region
- come from a modest socio-professional background (your family quotient, or your place of residence in the city's political priority district, or - your school in the city's political priority district will be used as a reference)
- be of French nationality
- have a good level of English (European level B1)
- have never participated in a trip to the United States
- already have experience in volunteering and/or citizen engagement
Acceptance conditions (compensation, transport, accommodation, meals, etc.) : All costs are covered.

Successful candidates will be invited for an interview in French and English in front of a jury.
