Assignment description : Do you want to embark on a 10 to 12 month civic mission, all while discovering Germany and developing your linguistic and professional skills? So, don't wait any longer: go on a Franco-German Volunteer Program!

You can do a VFA in one of the following areas:
school (from kindergarten to high school);
higher education (university or CROUS equivalent in Germany);
associative (social, ecological, sports or culture);
territorial authority;
or even directly to the OFAJ.

Volunteer missions are neither paid activities nor volunteering actions. Above all, they require a strong social commitment.

Frame:
You benefit from personalized support (administrative and educational).
You have a double status: your volunteering is recognized by the Civic Service Agency on the French side and by the Internationaler Jugendfreiwilligendienst on the German side*.
The hourly volume is 24 to 35 hours per week maximum.
You are entitled to 2 days off per month.
You participate in 25 days of training, divided into 4 intercultural and educational support seminars.

Care and financing
As a volunteer, you benefit from:
a monthly allowance of €558.17 (as of 11/09/2024), paid by the Civic Service Agency**;
a monthly supplementary benefit of at least €114.85 (as of 11/09/2024), paid by the host structure — in cash and/or in kind (accommodation, meals and/or transport) **;
the reimbursement by the OFAJ of travel expenses to participate in the seminars and to go to the mission site;
the coverage of health, accident and civil liability insurance costs***;
private supplementary insurance (for schools, higher education and at the OFAJ).

The advantages of the VFA
Civic commitment and personal enrichment;
an experience of 10 to 12 months in Germany to highlight in your CV;
an environment to improve your linguistic and intercultural skills;
an immersion in a new culture;
a network of contacts in your host structure and with other volunteers.

* Some ecological volunteering is not affected by dual status and depends exclusively on the German system (IJFD).

** Some VFAs in ecology depend exclusively on the German system (IJFD). Volunteers can receive a “Taschengeld”, the actual amount of which depends on the agreement with the organization and the country of assignment (the maximum amount is however 350 euros). Accommodation, food, and work clothes can also be taken care of.

*** Coverage may vary from volunteer area to volunteer area.
