Assignment description :
The Popular Education Laboratory in Outaouais is a young popular education organization for associations and communities in the region. The LabPOP aims to support citizens and the community movement in the Outaouais region to increase their power to act.
The objectives of the mission are to strengthen capacities for social transformation and local citizenship.
Because of its role in social transformation, LabPOP is always looking for innovative practices. It seeks to develop original ways of naming, understanding and acting on the oppressions experienced by the target populations. It thus allows participants to learn in a different way by taking into account their knowledge, practices and experiences.
The volunteer will therefore be able to develop and organize activities that lead to the co-construction of shared visions of forms of solidarity and social justice. In a perspective of participatory democracy where as many people as possible have the chance to get involved in consultation and decision-making, the themes of these activities can be determined in collaboration with the board of directors, the work team and the members of the LabPOP. Of course, we want these activities to also be close to the abilities and interests of the volunteer.
